Prabal K “Charley” Chatterjee is a Principal Lecturer in Pharmacology and MSc Pharmacology Course Leader at the University of Brighton. He has a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool and MSc and PhD degrees in Medicine from the University of Aberdeen. He worked for Glaxo Group Research and completed his post-doc research at the William Harvey Research Institute, London. His research interests include the investigating the cellular mechanisms involved in development of acute kidney injury and chronic/diabetic kidney disease with a focus on possible novel pharmacological interventions. He has over 70 publications and as well as being a Fellow of the Society, is also a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). When not in the research lab, he teaches Pharmacology on many courses at the University of Brighton and to Medical students at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
